Reinventing the Simplicity of Lower Villa Living
The original space is a down-stacked house type, with the bedroom and dining room on the ground floor, and the location of the original staircase affects the entire dining room line and layout, and the location of the staircase is the most important issue in solving the entire house line.
The design makes full use of the 4.8-metre high partition and breaks the stereotype of a dark basement, focusing on the integration of vertical space areas to stimulate the owner's desire to explore as he walks around.
The ground floor was transformed by shifting the staircase to the south, enlarging the scale of the dining room, using the leisure balcony as a cigar bar, and removing part of the floor slab next to the staircase to supplement the basement's lighting.
The basement is partitioned to form a high ceiling space, and the negative floor is the study, which retains the original structural columns, and the exposed concrete exterior shows the power of the original roughness. The desk is connected with the bookcase and bookshelf, and the bookcase serves as the storage function and the railing of the open area between the negative one and the negative two floors.
Through the study and down the rotary staircase is the meeting area on the negative two level, in addition to meeting guests, adding the function of water bar in the open area. The skylight introduces natural light to increase the lighting and ventilation effect in the basement, which enhances the comfort and sense of space.
