“When it comes to the ideal house in my heart, it is not necessarily a complicated design and must contain artistic furniture, sculptures, or installations. It is a friend whom I get along with and talk to, allowing me to ponder on life and more possibilities; and it is my spiritual pursuit of artwork. To put it more appropriately, it is a kind of exploration and interpretation, allowing me to fully reveal my taste and spiritual thoughts in the same space. This process makes me feel relax and be myself and always reminds me of a poem from Pablo Neruda, saying ‘I have also built my house like a toy house and I play in it from morning till night.’ It does not need to be built sedulously. As long as it has the right style and temperament, everything will become natural.” The designer is exacting to the extreme with this private space for a designer. The number of rooms is reduced from the original 5 to 3. The kitchen is moved to the area of bay windows. Moreover, the dining area and kitchen are made open to the space to let the light come in freely, making the whole space more wide and unobstructed. A simple and comfortable sense is also felt throughout. The U-shape geometry figure is applied to walls, corners, mirrors, home-made handles, self-made skirting night lamps… The shape is taken as a design element to express a pure spirit, making the whole space more consistent and interesting. On the show stand is a jade sculpture, an artwork named Future from Cristóbal Gabarrón who is the national contemporary artist in Spain. It is one of the only two works in the world. The large floor-to-ceiling windows introduce outer scenery into space. With low furniture, the outer landscape appears before the eyes without obstruction. The wall and ceiling are made in white in full, making the furniture more consistent with space. A more natural and warm feeling of home is created as the Italian hand-made wooden floor is laid with the classic chevron flooring method to make a broad sense of vision. The texture of the space is greatly enhanced with the sofa, corner tables of the raw log, and furniture of natural stone and other different materials. The BAXTER sofa, B&B glass tea table, and CASSINA low and high wooden tables are present. The upper portion of the space is decorated with Aria series chandeliers showing a strong sense of sculpture, which is designed by Zaha Hadid for SLAMP. The scopes of the living room and dining area are defined by White U-shaped lamp posts combined with the matt copper sheet. The natural space created by the black steel plate window cover with dark wooden finishes contrasts with the white wall, making the whole space more textured. All indoor storage items are designed beside the walls, leaving some space for more artworks. Constantine Blancusi’s works Endless Pillar and Birds in Space are particularly eye-catching. The medieval side cabinet in the dining area is both practical and decorative. On it is the white marble "Honorific Maiden in the Morning", which is a sculpture from the artist Wang Xiangrong. The CASSINA leather dining chairs are present. Along a corridor, the study, the children’s room, and the principal bedroom at the end of the corridor are arranged in a progressive order, reflecting an undistracted, quiet, and pleasant lifestyle. The wall is decorated with the ZIETA decorative mirrors. An electric bed is put hidden under a black steel plate behind the study. With it, the study can also be used as a guest room if necessary, maximizing the use of space. A FLOS Table lamp and a CASSINA single chair are present. The color yellow representing hope and vitality is selected for the children's room, adjusting the gray-white environment. At the corners are the Roly Poly elephant chairs. QEEBOO Rabbit chairs and LOUIS POULSEN chandeliers are present. The narrow corridor of the principal bedroom connects the dorm, toilet, and cloakroom. On the bedside table is a watercolor painting, which features the Water Garden designed by Junya Ishigami. From a philosophical point of view, it is understood as an unnatural sense in nature and a natural sense in an unnatural space, which fully expresses the designer's exploration of nature. The OLUCE lamp on the marble desk is present. The main toilet is neat and refreshing. The extensible round mirror in the washing area does not block the window and is full of fun. The floor-to-ceiling glass door retains the sunlight outside the window, providing enough light for the corridor. The art and abstraction are introduced into the hard and soft decoration, revealing a quiet and leisure way of life beyond prosperity from form and meaning. When the light comes in, the whole pure white space looks bright and tidy. Read a book with a cup of tea, have leisure time, and free yourself from restraint!
