General Mansion
The "General Mansion" in Xichang, designed by IDMatrix, revolves around the private residence of General Liu Xiangzhi, a general of the Wu Wing of the Qing Dynasty, and is part of the China Qionghai 17 Degree International Tourism Resort. It is a place in history and outside of time. The Hall is Xichang's "place to stay" and Vanke's "brand pavilion", concentrating the company's value of culture and time, and its ambition for the city - the whole resort is extended and The whole resort extends and evolves. Therefore, IDM takes the "General" as the starting point and sets the ancient house as the prologue of the hotel and even the whole commercial body, refining the essence of the General's culture into the carrier of "hotel", making it an act of thinking beyond "design" itself. The essence of the General's culture is distilled into the "hotel", making it an act of thinking beyond "design" itself. As the General Mansion is an old building, the history of the building should be the soul when doing interior design. In general, IDM does not do too much decoration on the interior space, IDM tries to retain the details of the original building, and uses modern minimalist methods to protect and maintain the cultural heritage and rituals that have been handed down over a century. It is going to "recover" the process of awakening this quiet and elegant interior space, many local rare cultural heritage remains become rare art exhibitions, which almost perfectly balance the time-space relationship between history and contemporaries.
