中国人自古讲究则水而居，出于对江景的迷恋，和对大都市CBD钢筋森林里如库哈斯笔下那种“拥挤的文化”和“聚集的狂欢”骨子里的抗拒，2016年，我选中了这套房子。它偏居海珠岛的最西端，与市中心相互眺望又保持一定的距离，江对面的沙面古建筑与珠江新城的高楼林宇相比起来，让人有种适度的松弛感。 日常欣赏着三江交汇与日落美景，可以说是热闹的广州市区中难得的安静之地。每至年关，海珠区的传统花市就设在楼下的滨江路，更平添了些亲切的市井气。
I chose this house in 2016 out of my fascination with the river view and my resistance to the "crowded culture" and "gathering carnival" of Koolhaas in the steel forest of the metropolitan CBD. It is situated at the westernmost end of Haizhu Island, looking out over the city centre but at a certain distance from it. The ancient buildings of Sha Mian across the river give a modest sense of relief compared to the tall buildings of Zhujiang New Town. With daily views of the three rivers meeting and the sunset, it can be considered a rare quiet spot in the lively city of Guangzhou. At New Year's Eve, the traditional flower market of the Haizhu district is located downstairs on Binjiang Road, adding to the intimate atmosphere of the city.
